Gearing up for Nanowrimo

Every year in November, crazy people commit to writing 50,000 words of their novel. I mean, you have to be a little crazy.  You have holidays, family commitments, and gift shopping…who else would punish themselves with extra deadlines and sign up for Nanowrimo?

**looks around, and raises her hand**

Me.
I would totally do it.

I have been crazy enough to add that extra workload and actually manage to pull it off.

You know how runners get that high after they finish a marathon? I wouldn’t know, since I don’t run…but I get the same rush when I down my third cupcake and finish a chapter for the day. It’s a pretty awesome feeling.

So. I’m dusting off my laptop from the little sticky peanut butter fingerprints of my hooligans. And with my composition notebooks in hand I will live off cup o’ noodles and five buck pizzas until Thanksgiving. Can’t forget freezer meals and my good ol’ crock pot. 😉

Don’t worry, though. This is still my craft blog. I’m working on a fun tutorial to show you soon! But at the same time, don’t be surprised when I start posting about my writing habits. I’m a complicated girl, I don’t have just one hobby or interest that I throw myself into. I throw myself into a lot of hobbies. So wish me luck as I work on Book Two, and finish editing Book One. This is a crazy month indeed and I wish all my fellow Nanos good luck as they embark on this crazy adventure with me!  🙂

P.S. If anyone wants to add me as a writing buddy on Nano, I’m “Code Pink”. Just mention to me that you found my blog, so that I add you too. Thanks!

  1. I participated last year for the first time and it was absolutely enlightening. I am looking forward to it again even if I’m not 100% sure what this next novel is going to be about. Either a rich family from Beverly Hills with 5 daughters coming of age, or a young American woman who moves to the French countryside to work as an au pair. I have 2 days to decide!! Eek.

Tell us what you think!
