These things are deliciously awesome. I found myself sneaking them and having to make more for the kids. Shhh. Here’s an easy recipe for how to make frozen pops your kids will love!
First gather your supplies. You need these fun little popsicle molds. They’re life changing…well, sort of. I can stick them in the dishwasher and they don’t warp. That’s pretty darn cool in my book.
Next, go grab your fruit and juice. I used canned fruit and strawberry lemonade. I like canned because it’s packed in 100% juice, available year round and doesn’t go bad in like 2 days. And Dole sells it in clear plastic bottles that my boys like to use to catch bugs with. win-win!
Now fill up your mold with tropical fruit. I stagger them a little so the juice will fill around it.
Next, pour strawberry lemonade in the molds, up to that line…not the very top. We want room for it to expand.
Put the tops on the molds. You will have to push the fruit aside a little to get it to fit.
It just snaps onto the top.
Repeat with all 4 tops.
Shove it into the pizza section of your freezer, far away from grubby little hands. I love that section.
Now wait for it to freeze. Takes about 4 hours, give or take. Faster, if you set your freezer way too cold.
Pull it from the freezer.
So pretty.
Here’s a tip you will love, seriously. Put the bottom of the molds under running warm water for a minute. It makes it soooo easy to pull out the popsicles.
And that’s it!
You can use white grape juice, drinkable yogurt, or smoothies as the liquid. Just add your favorite berries, melons or fruit to the molds first. Endless possibilities!!!
Happy kids!!
And a great way to get your kids to try new fruit. I hid papaya and mango in mine, and they loved it! Plus, don’t forget the servings of fruit you just tricked them into eating. Yep. 😉
Yeah, after they go to bed, I totally grab these. It’s nice having them stare me in the face, since I’m too lazy to bend down to get the ice cream.
